Ten Sixty Six Mix
Art Installation with acurious agenda

My first public art installation is currently on display at Hastings Train Station

as part of the incredible Curious Agenda festival.

This piece is incredibly personal. It’s a tribute to my childhood friend, James Read, known to many as Jimi Riddle—and to other men we’ve lost too soon.

Jimi was the frontman of The Riddles and a vital part of Hastings' creative heartbeat. He was full of life, mischief, and generosity, always lifting people up and encouraging others to express themselves. His sudden absence left a huge void in our community and in everyone who knew him.

For this project, I transformed a custom-built phone box into a space for reflection, on grief, memory, and the quiet struggles so many face. Through a mix of portraiture and symbolism, the piece explores absence as much as presence—honouring lives that ended too soon, and the lasting impact they still have.

Creating this has been emotional but also healing.

If you’re passing through Hastings, please take a moment to stop by before it comes down. Inside, you’ll find a special tribute song—"Jimi" by Jack Wilson and Kid Kapichi, which you can hear by picking up the phone.

Huge thanks to Curious Agenda and Fat Deckchairs for making this possible, and for building the phone box that holds it all together.
